Land Revenue
 Problem Statements/Focus Areas
1. The agriculture sector in Kerala, particularly paddy cultivation, faces a significant lack of automation. This reliance on manual and traditional methods leads to inefficiencies in productivity, increased labor dependency, and higher costs. Addressing this gap with modern automated solutions is essential to improve efficiency, reduce labor challenges, and enhance the overall sustainability of paddy farming in the state.

2. The Assistant Cardamom Settlement Office, Idukki, faces critical challenges in effectively managing government land leased for cardamom cultivation. These challenges include:
  • Lease Expiration: Lessees often occupy land beyond their lease period, resulting in revenue losses and potential misuse.
  • Unauthorized Activities: Illegal practices such as unauthorized construction, crop conversion, and quarrying threaten ecological stability and reduce revenue.
  • Inefficient Tracking: Manual processes hinder effective tracking of land usage, revenue collection, and lease renewals, leading to inefficiencies.
  • Data Accessibility: Limited access to real-time data on land status, crop patterns, and lease details restricts timely and informed decision-making.
To address these issues, there is a need for a technology-driven solution that can:
  • Automate lease renewal, revenue collection, and land record maintenance processes.
  • Monitor land usage using GIS mapping, satellite imagery, and drones to detect unauthorized activities.
  • Facilitate online payments and lease renewal applications.
  • Provide real-time insights through a centralized dashboard displaying land status, crop patterns, and revenue trends.
  • Enhance transparency and accountability by offering easy access to land records and transaction histories.
Implementing such a solution will help protect the ecological integrity of the Western Ghats, improve revenue generation, and ensure sustainable management of cardamom cultivation.
