In the aftermath of the landslide disaster in Wayanad, Chooralmala, numerous affected individuals face multiple types of losses, including the death of relatives, loss of homes, vehicles, and livelihoods. The government has implemented various relief measures, such as fund transfers, house reconstruction, livelihood support, and rent payments, with some initiatives being short-term and others long-term.
However, the fragmented nature of these efforts creates challenges in tracking and monitoring the status of relief provided to each individual or family. For instance, a person may be listed for certain benefits but excluded from others, and there is no centralized system to verify if specific payments, such as rent installments, have been disbursed.
There is a need for a single integrated portal or window to monitor all relief measures, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and comprehensive support for disaster-affected individuals. Such a system would enable real-time tracking of assistance provided and help streamline the coordination of relief efforts.
